Close your shift: cash, MoMo and card
How Ghana shops close a POS shift with cash, MoMo, and card on the same sales — including rider cash.
Count what is on the POS
Close of day is the POS shift. The cash in the drawer, the MoMo that went through on those sales, and the card on those sales should be one report. A MoMo total on the phone that was never entered on the POS is a second record.
Leave pending prompts open
Live Paystack, Hubtel, MoMo, or USSD checkout that has not succeeded is not paid. Do not hand over the stock, and do not take it off the open list, until the payment rule you set says it is paid. Manual MoMo on POS Desktop syncs when the internet is back.
Rider cash belongs on the original ticket
Shop-verified cash on delivery is recorded on the delivery proof, including the amount collected. When that order is fulfilled, the payment is on the sale. It is not a chat total you add at close.
Reports and tax need a connection
Sales reports need internet. GRA e-VAT submission needs the completed sale on the server, with the buyer’s TIN, and a connection to GRA. POS Desktop can keep the queued sales locally through a power cut. Promotions and branch transfers also wait for internet.
